COVID-19 INFO - updated for 2024

We remain committed to your child’s health and well-being.  Burlingame Pediatric Dentistry follows COVID-19 protocols per guidance from the California Dental Association, CDC, California Department of Public Health, and San Mateo County.

Steps we implement to keep you and your child safe and comfortable when visiting our office:

Advanced Staff Training & Protection — Each member of our team completes additional awareness and prevention programs to enhance their knowledge and preparedness.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) — Your child’s pediatric dentist and dental assistant wear a special N95 mask, additional surgical mask, clear face shield, and surgical gown during your child’s visit during exams and procedures.

HEPA Air Filtration — We have HEPA-grade air purifying filters throughout the office to help clean the air.

Because your safety is a shared responsibility between our team and your family, here is what we are asking of you:

Mask policy — Per California Department of Public Health, masks are optional in healthcare settings including dental offices. Please refer to San Mateo County guidelines for any updates on mask policy.

No patient gloves allowed — We ask you to dispose of any outside gloves before you enter.

Eyewear — You may bring a pair of your own eyeglasses or sunglasses for your child, as we require the patient to have eye protection during their visit.  We can also still provide a disinfected pair for sunglasses for your child to wear.

Pre-screening of patients — Our office communicates with you to screen patients and the accompanying adult for COVID-19 symptoms and any positive test results in the past 10 days prior to their appointment.  This is accomplished via a Health History update questionnaire during the day of your child's appointment as part of the check-in paperwork.
Curbside check-in — If you prefer to wait in your car instead of our waiting room, you may check in when you arrive in the parking lot via text (by replying to the text reminder) or phone call (650) 239-9384; simply respond to any of these texts with “Here” or “Arrived” to alert us of your arrival.  We will notify you when your child’s dental chair is ready.

Hand Hygiene — Please use our hand sanitizer upon entry.
