Dr. Zaul and Dr. Smith of Burlingame Pediatric Dentistry are Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. They both were born and raised in California. They also attended college, dental school, and their pediatric dentistry residency training programs in California. Dr. Zaul is a Bay Area native who obtained her BS in Microbiology at UC Davis. Dr. Smith graduated from Stanford University with her BA in Human Biology. 
 
Dr. Zaul and Dr. Smith have worked together in different capacities for 12 years, since they went to dental school together at UCLA School of Dentistry. In dental school they served as student leaders in a community-based outreach program providing preventive dental services to teens. Following graduation from the DDS program, they both continued their post-doctoral dental education in Los Angeles. Dr. Zaul attended USC and Dr. Smith attended UCLA, where they collaborated as resident liaisons for their residency programs to the Southern California Society of Dentistry for Children. Upon completing their residency training programs, both Dr. Zaul and Dr. Smith became certified pediatric dentists, a certification achieved by only 5% of all dentists in the U.S.
 
After completing their residency programs, they moved back to the Bay Area to practice in order to be close to their respective families and friends.  Each then achieved the distinction of board certification in their specialty through the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Outside of the office, Dr. Zaul and Dr. Smith can be found participating in their dental book club, enjoying workout classes, and staying active outdoors. Dr. Zaul has a son in elementary school and a daughter in preschool. Dr. Smith has a son in preschool. They enjoy spending time with their kids at our local parks and playgrounds.
